Time trials series 2012
New to Time Trials? Why not try it at one of our club events? Better still... there are prizes available!!
For the second year running, Plymouth Triathlon Club is hosting a series of evening Time Trials for its member’s and friends. They will take part on the first Thursday of the month, starting in April through to September. The course is known as S3/13S - It involves a 13-mile loop starting at Ermington, out towards Modbury, California Cross, Kittaford Cross then back towards Ermington.
This course offers something for everyone, having some testing climbs on the way out and a fast stretch on your return. It’s a great introduction into Time Trialling.
Ride Plymouth are offering the following prizes:
- Senior Male Series Winner:
1st £35 / 2nd £20 / 3rd £15 / 4th £10 - Women and Junior Series Winner:
1st £35 / 2nd £20 / 3rd £15 - Veteran Series Winner:
40-49 £15 / 50-59 £15 / 60 and over £15
And there will be random spot prizes! So stick around at the end and you may win something!

Race dates are:
- 7th of June
- 5th of July
- 2nd of August
- 6th of September
If you want to take part then come along to HQ at the Crooked Spire Inn, Ermington to register from 5.30pm until 6.20pm. The first rider will set off at 6.30pm so it’s advisable to arrive early to register and guarantee your race – there is a maximum of 60 riders.
Plymouth Triathlon Club members pay £3.00 to enter, non-club members pay £5.00. You’ll need to sign-on and then you’ll be given a race number (please remember to hand your number back once you have finished).
These events are being run by PTC on behalf of Cycling Time Trials. They are intended to be informal, friendly events and anyone is welcome to come along and have a go. The course will be marshaled so all you need is a road worthy bike and you are ready to race!
Anyone over the age of 12 can participate, but if you are under 18 you will need to bring a parental consent form which can be found clicking here
Prize Rules
- To qualify for prizes you need to race 3 times - your two fastest times will be counted and an average taken. The quickest average wins.
- If there is no over-45 winner then it will go down to the next age group until a winner is found.
ONE RIDER, ONE PRIZE
Spot prizes will be randomly picked at the end of each event using your race number. If you are not present to collect your prize then another number will be picked. The Race Director’s decision is final.
