As of January 2017, ALL JUNIORS will need to be of a required standard of swimming. Juniors will need to be at ASA Level 8 standard or higher, swim or have swum with a competitive club. Alternatively, upon their first session, Juniors will be assessed by Level 2 coach, Matt Searl to see if they reach the minimum standard required. The club offers an extensive junior oriented training program.
THERE IS CURRENTLY A WAITING LIST FOR BOTH THE TUESDAY SWIM SESSION & THURSDAY TRACK SESSION. (If your child is on the waiting list, please ensure that your child is at or working towards the minimum swimming standard required)
Please note that parents are responsible for their children inside the Life Centre changing village prior to and following the coaching session and for pick up times.
Newbies: New children are entitled to two taster sessions, free of charge, before they commit to the annual joining subscription of £20. Please negotiate with the Junior Co-ordinators on the above email, as they will need to check availability with the relevant coaches, prior to attendance.
Junior Consent form, please download the Participant and Parental Consent Form PTC and hand to Anna or Julie. Please ensure that this is read, understood and signed by both the participant and parent/carer.
Tuesdays at the Plymouth Life Centre.
19.00 – 19.45 –younger members. Coached by Heather Booth, Andy Norris & Matt Searl.
Cost for each session is £2 along with a valid membership card (please bring this to the session as we require your emergency contact number).
We signpost to sessions held by Plymouth Youth Cycling . In addition, there are some coached opportunities at Torbay Velo Park during School Holidays.
As mentioned below, in the summer & race season, our Thursday track session often involves bike handling skills, mounting/dismounting & running off of the bike!
Thursdays at Brickfields athletics track 18.00 – 19.00 (trackside by 17.50)
Covered in the session:
- Full warm up
- Running techniques
- Pacing/speed/endurance (changes each week)
- Running within a group to simulate race scenarios
In the summer and race season we do 6-8 weeks of bike handling skills such as moving with the bike, must and discount as well as transition training to get them ready to race.
The session caters for athletes aged 8-16 & all the way from beginner and non runner to Elite level..

This session is free for members, please bring your membership card and wear appropriate clothing for the session, according to the season it could be hot or cold!
