Adult Training Sessions

Running
The adult training sessions are based at the Mount Batten Centre.

Every Monday evening at 19:00 there are several groups of runners of all abilities. The run sessions are based on your level of fitness, your goals and how you want to run. The sessions include training for speed, endurance and technique. Each session is run by at least 1 BTA affiliated coach.

Swimming
Every fortnight during the summer months the group meet slightly earlier (at 18:00) at the Mount Batten Centre for an open water swim. The group are in the water at 18:20 from the pontoon outside the Mount Batten Centre. This session is monitored by a lifeguard and as with all our sessions, this is run by at least 1 BTA affiliated coach. These sessions are again dependant on your goals and include: technique analysis, technique development, stamina and speed.

For coached pool sessions, please take a look at the training timetable.

Cycling
A group of riders meet in the B&Q car park near Marsh Mills round-a-bout Saturda/Sunday morning. This is NOT a coached session or a session officially organised by the club - it is advertised as "a group of friends out for a ride".

The rides cater for mixed abilities. There are a few usual routes that the club will ride, and depending how many people and their abilities, each route has 2 options - 1 that's for high pace and distance, 1 that is a gentler pace and shorter in distance.

Check the section training of the forum for the latest information about routes and coming sessions.
